The Hive is committed to providing high-quality instruction and support to promote the highest academic achievement for all students.
As an educator at 224K, it is imperative to approach this work with a mindset that is rooted in our vision: We believe that scholars of the hive can achieve personal success with the support of a caring community that centers their identities, we do this by nurturing their individual genius and actively engaging them in learning. As we are encountering and working with our students/families, it is important to keep the following Leader in Me habits in mind:
I am proactive (you are in charge of your emotions and choices)
I begin with the end in mind (have a plan)
I put first things first (do what you have to do, to do what you want to do/work first, then play!)
I think win-win (everyone can win when we worked together)
I seek first to understand, then to be understood (listen more than you talk)
I synergize with others (collaborating on a task)
I sharpen my saw (balance feels best)
