At PS 224, our Hive grows stronger after the final bell rings thanks to our exciting partnership with Good Shepherd Services’ LEAP (Learning & Enrichment Afterschool Program). This vibrant after-school program builds on the day’s learning by offering engaging academic support, hands-on arts activities, leadership development, and opportunities to explore new interests in a safe, welcoming space.
Students dive deeper into lessons, flex their creativity, and expand their horizons through STEAM, cultural exploration, physical activity, and family-centered events that connect our community. Plus, special showcases throughout the year bring joy, pride, and visibility to their accomplishments.
Together with Good Shepherd Services, we’re helping every Bee in the Hive shine brighter—after school and beyond!
At the end of the school day, your child’s teacher will escort them to the auditorium, where they will be greeted by our afterschool counselors from Good Shepherd Services.

Afterschool hours are from 2:20 PM to 5:50 PM, with dismissal beginning at 5:30 PM.
All students must be picked up at the main entrance during dismissal.

Our afterschool program, proudly run in partnership with Good Shepherd Services, offers a safe, enriching environment where students continue to learn, play, and grow beyond the classroom.
